ANNUAL SUMMARY REPORTS

2023-2024, Bahjat Chaar, President

The 2023-2024 academic year was a productive period for the Qatar Beta Zeta Chapter of Pi Tau Sigma. We held one initiation ceremony, inducting 11 new members based on academic excellence and community service, reinforcing our chapter’s commitment to both intellectual rigor and social responsibility. Throughout the year, we organized and participated in a variety of events that fostered professional development, academic engagement, and collaboration. A key highlight was our representation at the 103rd National Pi Tau Sigma Convention in Michigan, where we connected with industry professionals and other Pi Tau Sigma chapters, gaining valuable insights to bring back to our members. We also co-hosted an “Ice Cream with the Faculty” event in collaboration with other honor societies, facilitating casual discussions between students and professors from various engineering departments about academic and career journeys. Additionally, we partnered with ASME to hold an appreciation ceremony recognizing the contributions of faculty and teaching assistants, presenting them with specially designed plaques as a token of gratitude. These activities allowed us to strengthen our relationships with the university and external organizations, while also creating opportunities for our members to grow as leaders and scholars.

2022-2023, Hassan Khan, President

The Beta Zeta Chapter of Pi Tau Sigma at Texas A&M University at Qatar had an eventful semester, showcasing academic excellence and community engagement. The initiation ceremony welcomed 20 new students and honored 14 current members. The chapter organized numerous High Impact Experience Symposiums, highlighting impactful experiences in research and internships. An informative session on 3D scanning and additive manufacturing emphasized the relevance of these techniques. Additionally, an inter-honor society trivia event fostered collaboration and community. The chapter's accomplishments demonstrate its dedication to excellence and fostering a strong engineering community.

2019-2020, Hassan Haider, President

This academic year, our chapter held two initiations in Fall 2019 and Spring 2020. In total we inducted 5 new members into the Beta Zeta chapter of Pi Tau Sigma. During the spring semester, we had planned to hold an alumni lecture series to give an idea to the current members on life after university such as navigating career paths and networking. However, the COVID-19 pandemic put a halt to all chapter activities planned for the Spring 2020 as the campus closed down in early March. As a result, the Spring 2020 initiation was done through Zoom.

2018-2019 Osamah Hindi, President

This academic year, our chapter held two initiations and was able to initiate 12 new members to Pi Tau Sigma. During the spring semester, our president and vice president traveled to Colorado to participate in the annual PTS Convention. We were able to learn a lot from other chapters and get new ideas for activities and fundraisers that would help us get our chapters name around our campus and build more support. We also made plans to hold lectures given by industry specialists in the coming academic year.
